Kyrgyzstan gambling halls

[ English ]

The conclusive number of Kyrgyzstan gambling halls is something in question. As information from this country, out in the very most central part of Central Asia, can be hard to receive, this might not be too astonishing. Whether there are two or 3 approved gambling dens is the item at issue, maybe not in reality the most earth-shattering article of information that we do not have.

What will be true, as it is of most of the ex-Soviet nations, and certainly truthful of those located in Asia, is that there will be a good many more not allowed and clandestine casinos. The switch to authorized wagering did not encourage all the underground gambling halls to come from the illegal into the legal. So, the debate over the total number of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos is a minor one at best: how many accredited gambling dens is the item we’re trying to reconcile here.

We know that in Bishkek, the capital metropolis, there is the Casino Las Vegas (a marvelously original name, don’t you think?), which has both table games and slot machines. We can also find both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. Both of these offer 26 slots and 11 gaming tables, separated amongst roulette, vingt-et-un, and poker. Given the amazing likeness in the size and setup of these two Kyrgyzstan casinos, it may be even more bizarre to determine that they are at the same location. This seems most astonishing, so we can perhaps determine that the list of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls, at least the approved ones, is limited to two members, one of them having changed their title a short while ago.

The nation, in common with many of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a fast conversion to free-enterprise system. The Wild East, you may say, to reference the lawless conditions of the Wild West an aeon and a half ago.

Kyrgyzstan’s gambling dens are actually worth visiting, therefore, as a bit of social analysis, to see cash being gambled as a form of collective one-upmanship, the aristocratic consumption that Thorstein Veblen spoke about in 19th century America.
